NNO is the nationwide community/law enforcement partnership designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

A big kudos to those that received community awards and the participants in the many events hosted around the City. At the one at MLK & Malcom X we had heavy representation from the Park Service, ANC8B and the Congress Heights Community Association. In the field at Simon Elementary school the Far South East Family Strengthening Collaborative, Dept. of Youth Rehabilitation Services, and Family and Medical Counceling Services, among others, were in attendance.

A big kudos to those who received community service awards; especially to my ANC Chair Sandra Seegars for her Outstanding Community Program Award.
